The years 1992 for the Vienna Philharmonic was indeed a very significant anniversary year. On March 28th, 1842, the Vienna Phihlarmonic had given its opening concert with the acclaimed German composer Otto Nicolai who later became famous for “Die Lustigen Weber von Windsor”, and 1992 saw the orchestra’s 150th anniversary.
